About Stuart Hodder

Specialist Podiatrist

Stuart Hodder is a Specialist Podiatrist and the clinical lead at Evolution Podiatry. He works with patients experiencing foot, ankle and lower-limb pain, helping them understand what may be contributing to their symptoms and what the most suitable next step is.

His approach is calm, practical and personal. Patients see Stuart for clear explanations, careful assessment and treatment planning that is shaped around their symptoms, movement, footwear, activity level and goals.

Clinical experience

Stuart holds a BSc (Hons) in Podiatry from the University of Plymouth, earned in 1999. He began his career in the NHS in London, building a broad caseload over more than two decades that included high-risk foot health, diabetes, arthritis, immunocompromised conditions and complex musculoskeletal problems.

Since 2006, Stuart combined NHS work with private practice, and in October 2024 – after 23 years in the NHS – he moved exclusively into the private sector. He continues to work closely with the network of GPs, orthopaedic specialists, podiatric surgeons and other healthcare professionals he has built relationships with throughout his career. He is HCPC registered and receives referrals from across this professional network.

Specialist interests

Stuart has a particular interest in lower-limb function, biomechanics, gait analysis, sports and exercise injuries, child development and alignment concerns. This means he often looks beyond the painful area itself. He considers how the foot, ankle and lower limb are moving, loading and working together, which can help build a clearer picture of what may be driving symptoms.

His work involves assessing concerns such as heel pain, Achilles pain, shin splints, flat feet, sports injuries, gait problems, children’s foot concerns and orthotic needs.

A practical, personal approach

Stuart’s aim is to make the assessment process clear and useful. He explains findings in plain English, avoids unnecessary jargon and talks through suitable options before treatment begins.

As a runner and cyclist himself, Stuart understands how frustrating it can be when pain affects training, confidence or everyday movement. His personal experience of injury and rehabilitation helps him relate to active patients who want to keep moving comfortably.
